STSL Meets

The Southern Tier Swim League (STSL) generally conducts six developmental meets during the Fall-Winter season and five meets during the Spring-Summer season.  UNAC swimmers are encouraged to compete in all of these meets.

STSL Championships

The STSL holds a Championship meet in March, at the end of Fall-Winter season, and another in July, at the end of the Spring-Summer season.  In order to compete in the STSL Championships, swimmers must compete in at least one event at an STSL league meet during the season.

Invitational Meets

Swim clubs throughout the region often host invitational meets, which are usually open to any club.  Some of the invitational meets at which UNAC often competes include the Whitney Point Holiday Sprints, the CAGO Cranberry Classic, the GOST-ly Halloween Meet, the Liverpool Jets Greater Syracuse Invitational, the Oswego Laker Meet, and the Whitney Point Open Water Swim.

Hosted Meets

Since 1973, UNAC has hosted the annual Sertoma Summer Invitational, a three-day outdoor meet held in July.  UNAC also hosts one of the three Niagara Championship Qualifier (Silver) meets in late February.  These meets are the only fundraisers that UNAC has, and revenue earned is used to offset some of the costs of UNAC's swim program, which helps reduce the swimmers' fees.  Because of this, UNAC parents are expected to help with the many jobs it takes to run a successful meet.

Niagara Regional Championships

At the Niagara Regional Championships in January, swimmers may only compete in events in which their seed times are slower than Niagara "CQ" (Silver) times.

Niagara Championship Qualifiers

One of the goals of most swimmers is achieving "CQ" (Silver) times in their events, which qualifies them to swim in those events at the annual Niagara Championship Qualifier (Silver) meet in February.  Swimmers may also be allowed to compete in up to two bonus events with slower times, provided they have at least one "CQ" time.  Swimmers cannot compete at this meet in any events in which they have "NI" (Gold) times.

Niagara Championships

After achieving "CQ" times, swimmers then strive to achieve "NI" (Gold) times in their events, which qualifies them to swim in those events at the annual Niagara Championships in March.  Swimmers may also be allowed to compete in up to two bonus events with slower times, provided they have at least one "NI" time and have "CQ" times in the bonus events.
